Here’s How You Can Have Thicker Eyelashes Naturally

Here’s How You Can Have Thicker Eyelashes NaturallyMost, if not all women (even some gents I know) desire fuller and longer eyelashes. Why? Simply because they look gorgeous on any face. There are several ways you can achieve that including going to your nearest brow bar to get extensions or falsies or having an eyelash transplant in extreme cases. But sometimes we are not up to it (which is code for ‘it’s too damn expensive’). If I’m preaching to the choir, then you know the other option to try and get the thicker eyelashes naturally.

Did you know you can have thicker eyelashes by just using whatever ingredients you have in your home? First and foremost, you can start by making it a routine to brush your eyelashes out on a daily basis using an eyelash comb. This, in case you didn’t know, promotes growth, and the more lashes you have the thicker they appear.

4 Ways You Can Get Thicker Eyelashes Naturally

Castor Oil

It is known to promote hair growth on your scalp, so it should obviously promote the growth of your eyelashes. Castor oil is rich in fatty acids, which strengthens the lashes preventing them from falling out, which results in more volume.

How to: To get going, you can apply using a cotton swab. First, clean the area around your eyes then dip the swab in castor oil and dub on your lashes. This can be done every night. Remember to wash it off in the morning (goes without saying but I’ve seen people who show up in the office with sleep still in their eyes). When you do this daily you will start noticing your eyelashes getting voluminous after a couple of weeks.

Coconut Oil

Here’s How You Can Have Thicker Eyelashes NaturallyOne of the favorites for hair growth, castor oil has antibacterial and moisturizing benefits for hair, and it is known to stop protein loss on any kind of damaged or undamaged hair.

How to: To help you in getting thicker eyelashes naturally, apply it on your lashes then leave it on for about 20 to 25 minutes then wash it off. For best results, make a mixture of lavender oil and coconut oil, touch a little of the mixture with the tips of your fingers then apply on your eyelashes. This can be done before taking a bath 2 or 3 times a week.

Green tea

This is another known way to thicken your eyelashes. Apart from having vitamin A and C, green tea contains flavonoids that are known to strengthen the capillary walls of blood vessels thereby improving blood circulation to the hair follicles which in turn helps in hair growth and thickening.

How to: Put a green tea bag in a cup of hot water, and let it sit for a while till it’s warm enough to touch. Dip a cotton swab in your cup of green tea then dub it on your lashes after cleaning the eye area. You can sleep with it and wash it off in the morning. Also, don’t forget to drink green tea regularly.

Petroleum jelly

Who knew good old petroleum jelly could work wonders when it comes to having thicker eyelashes naturally? This jelly helps in hydration, therefore preventing breakage and loss of lashes.  In other words, it has a moisturizing effect on your eyelashes, and regular application gives a fuller, and thicker look and feel to your lashes.

How to: You can use either a cotton swab or your fingers to apply. Make sure your talons are clean before using then on your lashes or you might run a chance of infection). Also, ensure you do not over apply as the weight of the jelly can cause weaker lashes to fall out.
