Skincare Oils for a Healthier and More Beautiful Skin and Hair

Hair and Skincare Oils I’m Loving at the Moment

Skincare Oils for a Healthier and More Beautiful Skin and HairWhen it comes to skincare and all its glory, consider me on the front row. I’m always learning as much as I can to better my skincare game and maintain a smooth and glowing complexion regardless of the weather or the lifestyle choices I make. Today I’m sharing with you some of the skincare oils I have on my ‘skincare shelf’ that I wouldn’t do without as well as the benefits they might add to your skincare game.

Skincare Oils I Adore

Argan Oil

This is one of the skincare oils I added to my collection recently, which I use on my face and hair. Argan oil is rich in vitamin A and vitamin E and is packed with Omega-6 fatty acids and antioxidants. The oil can also be used to treat dry, and brittle hair. To experience the full benefits, you can use it once a week as an overnight conditioner then rinse in the morning. It also protects hair from the heat of curlers, flat irons, and hair dryers plus it tames the frizz. And when it comes to the skin, adding a few drops of Argan oil to your toner for an all-over glow. Mixing it with brown sugar will also give you a natural exfoliator. I don’t like the smell though, but as long as it works, I think that should not bother me.

Coconut Oil

Skincare Oils for a Healthier and More Beautiful Skin and HairI had some serious sunburns on my forehead a few weeks ago and I decided to start using cold-pressed organic coconut oil at night before bed. It is a great moisturizer for all skin types and it doesn’t seem to have any adverse side effects. Coconut oil is said to delay the sagging of the skin and appearance of wrinkles. It also treats various skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin infections. For the hair, this oil gives hair a natural shine as well as a healthy growth. In addition, it is a great hair conditioner and helps in the re-growth process of damaged hair.

Castor Oil

I use Jamaican black castor oil; also organic. It is known to treat inflammation of the skin caused by acne, dry skin and sunburns in addition to fading blemishes and scarring when used over time. Castor oil can be used to even the skin tone because of its ability to reduce pigmentations as well. When it comes to the hair, it is quite famous for promoting hair growth by making the hair longer and thicker as well as prevent premature graying.

Olive Oil

Skincare Oils for a Healthier and More Beautiful Skin and HairWell, olive oil is one of those skincare oils you can use for anything and everything. For starters, it makes lips soft and supple. In addition, it protects the skin from various external factors like wind and UV rays but don’t replace your sun block with it. Olive oil is a great exfoliator as it adds moisture and smoothness to the skin. And if you want to reap the benefits of olive oil for hair, you can use it as a pre-shampoo treatment for stronger hair with a natural shine.

Shea Butter

benefits of raw shea butterWho doesn’t like shea butter? Although it’s not one of the skincare oils, I’m still including it in the mix. I use raw shea butter, which I use all over my body after a shower. Since I don’t like how it smells naturally in addition to being hard to the touch, I mix it with other essential oils like Ylang Ylang, Vitamin E, Lavender and olive oil. Its benefits to the skin include it being a natural sunscreen by protecting the skin from ultraviolet radiations of the sun. Again, don’t replace your sunscreen with it. Shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties because of its high content of Vitamin A which helps in soothing skin allergies and promoting healing and disinfections. It restores skin elasticity since it contains Vitamin F which is the key ingredient in maintaining skin elasticity. You can also use it as a hair moisturizer and it repairs hair breakage and mends split ends as well as soothing a dry and irritated dry scalp.

Skin health starts with a good skincare game, so if you really want to see a beautiful skin, you better start taking good care of it. I buy all my organic skincare oils from a little known organic online shop known as Nature’s Key, and they always deliver on their promise. Also note that we all have different skin types and lifestyles, and what works for me might not work for you. In addition, always do a patch test before using any skincare product.
