This means that your chances of eating clean and staying fit through food have just doubled. And if you live far from Karama (where the first restaurant is located) then I hope Jumeirah is close enough.

Although Govinda’s is an Indian restaurant they also serve Chinese and Italian cuisines in addition to the Indo delicacy at their Karama branch. But the new Jumeirah branch is only serving Indian food within its contemporary setting.

Govinda’s restaurant has been around for the last 15 years, and from what the owner and founder Mahesh Advani says, the restaurant believes in serving quality food and maintains the purity of every ingredient used in its dishes.

But how is this purity and quality achieved? According to Mahesh, all is achieved by maintaining a sattvic style of cooking. For those who feel a bit lost, this means that all the food prepared at the restaurant contains no garlic or onion. This style of cooking is an ancient Ayurveda method, for healthy living, particularly for keeping our minds clear, happy and at peace.

Each recipe is created with handpicked ingredients of the finest quality. These are aimed at producing a vegetarian dish that is fulfilling and appealing at the same time. “Our menu is carefully crafted, there is something for everyone. We want to showcase a part of India through our traditional Indian delicacies, whilst keeping it oil-free and high in health benefits. With our Chinese and Italian cuisine, it’s our vegetarian twist on pizzas and pasta and various Chinese dishes. At Govinda’s we want to encourage people to eat clean, healthy and wholesome food.”
